Amgen Fellows
The Amgen Foundation’s $5 million, five-year partnership with Teach For America is an essential part of our efforts to dramatically improve math and science education, especially in low-income communities.  By recruiting top math and science graduates to teach in these communities, we hope to inspire young children to explore a future in science while supporting a new generation of education leaders.

The Amgen Foundation will support 50 new Amgen Fellows each year starting in 2006. In addition to sponsoring the annual mathematics and science summit, the grant will support their recruitment, training, and development, and will provide each Fellow with a $2,000 signing bonus. The partnership will allow Teach For America to double the number of math and science graduates who join TFA’s teaching corps by 2010.
