Effective December 15, 2008, Biovitrum has acquired from Amgen the marketed biologic therapeutic products Kepivance® (palifermin) and Stemgen® (ancestim), and has also obtained from Amgen a worldwide exclusive license to Kineret® (anakinra) for its current approved indication. Biovitrum also received from Amgen an exclusive worldwide right to develop a modified IL-1ra product for orphan diseases, gout and pseudo-gout.
